Medical marijuana cards for people with post-traumatic stress disorder appear unlikely in Colorado, and some veterans are planning to protest the snub from state health officials.

A group of veterans plans to rally Thursday in Colorado Springs, the Associated Press reports. The veterans say that because PTSD won't qualify for marijuana cards, the state should adopt legalization for all on the November ballot.

Brian Vicente of the Campaign to Regulate Marijuana like Alcohol says a "Veterans for 64" group is being formed to back the marijuana ballot measure, called Amendment 64.

The group is being established in response to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment's second denial of a petition to add PTSD to the list of qualifying conditions for medical marijuana.

I'm rated 80 percent disabled with PTSD the VA did everything they could to help me thru counseling and what vet's call phyci pills valium,morphine,lithium,ciembalta,49 pills a week non of it worked and the side effects lift me a zombie.I had of course smoked pot many time over the years usually combined with alcohol or speed or all three, but never as therapy.I married 10 years ago my wife introduced me to medical marijuana eaten not smoked no alcohol or other street drugs It changed my life even my VA doctors said if it works for you it certainly won't hurt you.
