Here's the kind of article I hope we'll be seeing much less of in the coming years: 21-year-old woman arrested for selling weed through the mail. Obviously, she knew it was illegal so I'm not shocked by this or anything. It's just a shame that this country's still willing to sink more money into investigation, arrest and imprisonment than it is making this a legal money making industry.

There's an industry that makes quite a bit more money though, privatized prisons. Since people can make money from prisoners, they're sought out. The lesser the crime the better. It's much easier to arrest and imprison a woman selling a little weed, than it is to take down a gang selling meth, heroine, crack and guns. As soon as that gal is out of court and into an institution, the owners of that prison get more. More, more, more. Fuck freedom, fuck rights, get money.

Yeah, a friend of mine is doing an art series on prisons and he's been talking about the news on privatized prisons. It's a total mess. I hope to see it cleaned up in my lifetime!

I understand your perturbation. It's shame politicians decide what's good and what's not but not doctors. Well, we have to find out about lots of things (which aren't allowed because of political restrictions). For instance, the question of cbd and breast feeding is still debatable. And it's not the only issue.
