I've been using run-off water but I'm not sure if there are better ways to conserve water during a grow. I live in SoCal and even though we've been blessed with a few showers over the last few weeks, the heat is turning up and the drought is very real. Anyone have any water-conservation tips that I could specifically apply to my modest (but very important to me) marijuana garden?

Dang, I've never even considered that. I would think that controlling your temperature and humidity would be critical to save water. If you can keep the temperatures consistently lower than 75 and the humidity above %40, you'd lose less to evaporation. Vermiculite or Sphagnum moss will retain water really well too but you may wind up with salt, from the slow evaporation and the retention of water. I've found I'm not a fan of water retention medium.

Thanks, Osprey! I'll look intro vermiculite and sphagnum moss to see how it will work with what I'm doing!
