    Hey law 180 ,

Although I don't currently use heating mats I have been brainstormin on me next winters grow . I figure I'll use an electric in-floor heat pad system that's made fer Lament , Wood er Ceramic floors . It comes in varied pre sized units er you can make a custom fit system all thermostat controlled to yer pre set temp .

I plan on using a system like this to heat my grow room in the basement in the cold ass winter months . I'll just build a 2x4 frame with 1/2 plywood in a 4x8 size & then use the heating mat under either ceramic tile er a pergo type laminate . I'll place me plants on milk crates to raise em a foot off the floor so between the say 75 degree sub-floor & the plants a foot above the root balls should stay a constant 60 - 65-ish degrees during lights on & off in the cold ass winter months .

Seems much more efficient to heat the floor & up rather than the air & down . Check fleabay er amazon fer prices as it's quite co$t effective . Have a look see at the links below .

done the humidity dome.and i would get or make yourself a E-Z cloner way easier and a better success rate. i have take 72 cut in a dome one time and only 10 % made it. that's when i went to a e-z cloner. you keep it clean and it will work forever.

I know exactly what Hazeman is suggesting... Here:

    Aero Cloner EZ Cloner Replica

    Hope this helps

I have homemade aerocloner that works great.

    grape13-gt13mom.jpg

5-gallon bucket and a few EZ-Cloner water jets and neoprenes.
When I clean it later I will get a shot of the pvc manifold I made.
    Uses a 290 gph pump that was @ $20.

I was using air pump; but found it didn't make much difference.
I didn't like the noise it made; so I dropped it.

I get pretty much 100% in two weeks or less with this setup.

As for the heat pad deal: I like to set seed pots on top of my T-8 fixture for half a day or so when I start them in Pro-Mix.
I do that to warm the soil because I read it somewhere and it seems to help make them come up fast.

A trick I learned for cold floors is to double up the container in order to lift the pot off the floor a few inches.
With 5 gallon buckets I usually trim the lower bucket down below the molded handle area.
That gives me 3 or 4 inches boost.

I realize this thread is a few months old but...

Law180, Yes. Use the heating pad 24/7. Just keep an eye on your medium so it doesnt get too dry. Dont forget to mist em and give em fresh air.
I have to agree with every1 so far tho. EZ cloner, aero cloner or like me, a homemade bubble cloner. Way easier and no humidity dome or misting. Better success rates IME too.
