I've never tried to clone before but I had a friend who tried and I've always wondered if he did something wrong. He got the female plant to produce buds but it was only half of what a non-clone would produce. Where normally there would be two buds per branch set, he was only getting one bud for every pair of branches. Can anyone tell me if they've heard about this happening before and, if so, what was he doing to cause this? I wish I had pictures but this was last year and I didn't really think anything of it at the time since I wasn't really cloning.

Bud production depends on a few key things one being trimming. Some folks do a LST while other do super cropping. For me it sounds like they were not vegged out long enough but without pics Im totally spectating on so many levels.

Thanks, I think I'm just stating the question poorly. What I mean is that: when I grow from seeds, my plant is always symmetrical, whereas when I clone, the results are not symmetrical. I've drawn a really rough sketch but it might do more to explain what I mean.

Is this a normal look for a clone? Or am I doing something wrong to throw off the symmetry?
