    lol..Not really an "advanced Technique"

they apparently work well for seedlings.

I use the paper towel method most of the time..but saw these at wally world and gave them a shot...100% germ rate

I love the sight of seedlings poking out of their jiffy / peat pellets.

I'm a Jiffy fan for starting seeds - like you said, pretty much 100%. I pour boiling water on 'em to plump (and sterilize), and they are cool and ready to rock in minutes.

For cloning, I use rockwool as it's a little more "solid" and holds the stems better (IMVHO).

i've only used these a few time but i've had 100% germ rate as well. like the idea of boiling water to kill any bugs etc that may be hiding out. think i'll use that one next time

Washing the plugs out with Hot water is and awesome idea...Kinda flushes them a bit that way too.

    Thanks for the tip!

These work great for cuttings as well. I get a 100% success rate everytime I use them. The real Jiffy 7's are dense enough to hold a cut. Some of the knock offs have given me problems.

My Apple Jack clone ten days after cut off mom. Jiffy 7's are the way to go.
