As an Alaskan. . .
I hike, fish, camp, cycle, snowshoe, snowboard (very poorly), ski, kayak and build the hell outta some fires. Where do you recreate in the ol' "Great out of doors"? Also, if you've not been to Alaska, COME VISIT US!

I'll get up there someday. . . I must speak with the elders of the Caribou. In all seriousness, I enjoy fishing, only freshwater. I should give sea fishing a go sometime being I live 20 minutes away HAHAHA. I shoot a little bow and arrow now and then as well, I fucking love recurves.
I immensely enjoy rifles and firearms. Probably my favorite of them all.

I pretty much sold off all my guns. . . All I had were assult weapons anyway and upon growing up a little, I realized that I wasn't going to need to assult anyone any time soon. I now have a 30.30 and a little bolt action .22, as well as a .357 Mag. That's it though, just trail stuff. As for bows? I have an Oneida Aeroforce X-80, a PSE Treestand GX, a Mathews Monster XLR8 and a couple older compounds. Bows is fun.

All the calibers you listed are really fun from my experience. I love the 30-30. I'll rock a .22 all day long also, fun as hell. I own a .30-06, also a bolt action .22 LR, .257 Roberts, and 12 Gauge.
I can honestly say I've never even shot a compound hahaha. Some friends have em though, they're pretty slick.

There is "outdoors" everywhere and anytime ... recently I've been doing lots of snowshowing in the wooded areas around my house (love to track the deer after a fresh snowfall) ... once the weather gets warmer .. I'll be biking on state paths that run for miles by the bay and through small towns, canoeing on the local rivers and ponds ... oh yeah .. then there are the vacations ... this year I'm planning to do some hiking in Canyonlands and Arches NP ....

It is wonderfully quiet. We went XC skiing this weekend out at Kincaid park. . . Absolutely amazing. A bit of fresh snow, a couple of Moose and some good herbs. . .
