Default When to start seeds for a decent harvest

My first outdoor grow was this past year. I started my plants indoors in January with the intent to keep them indoors. but space became a issue for my ladies. So I cloned a pair of them and awaited the coming of April. At what seemed to be a long wait I was able to move my plants out doors. I gave them the loving care of a parent. at last august rolled around and I was able to harvest some afghan and white widow.
Both were good smoke after curing btw. But my big bud did not flower till late Oct, early November!
So now here it is January again and I am dwelling on when to start my beans and move them out doors.
Any suggestions would be appreciated ( strain etc. Keep in mind Michigan climate.
Planing to go entirely soil/organic this year.
When I die I will go sliding into the grave saying woo Wee what a ride, whats next oh God?

Not sure about your areas condition however I can say starting indoors will help. If you need it to be a quicker growing strain you want to find a heavy hitting Indica Dom. like White Widow or a Kush variety as they only take 4-9 weeks to flower and sativa Dom. strain can take 12-18 weeks to finish flowering. If you are looking to start from bean either way I would Start em as soon as spring appears to be arriving my guess would be like feb-march. Also be aware that some particular strains strive outdoors while some just seem to die out there... just my 2 cents hope it helps
