Internet Killswitch In US?
Wondering how some of you feel about this? This is regarding the recent bill that is going around in legislature which would allow the President to directly take actions under "cyber-emergency" to protect critical parts of the internet. That is big brother scary! The potential for it to be used as a tool of oppression is way too high of a risk imo.

It has and will exist. There has to be a contingency plan for attack from without as well as within. Networking everything in the world may not have been that great of an idea in the first place, eh?

"Big brother" has been around for decades.
Right now, if China wanted to shut down the power grid to the entire country, they can. Shutting down the power grid is not something which a small team of hackers could accomplish, but a large nation with enormous resources of hackers and spies, like Russia or China, can. This has technically been around for awhile now. China uses it all the time. Such as the case when google wanted to go there, more than 90% of their content was gone thanks to their govt not wanting its citizens to see it. Fucking sad man.
